The Right Hijab

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
Assalamualaikum

Look what came in the mail today! Alhamdulillah, my pretty Kalila shawls from @hijupline has arrived safely. These Kalila shawl is worth the buy, because it's fabric is of a high quality chiffon material. I am a huge fan for chiffon cerruti based shawls and I am so glad, they now come in wide length! ( 200cm x 75), awesome posome.

Previously, most chiffon cerruti based shawls come only at a basic length of ( 180cm x 100 ). It's a little tad too short for me, because of my height. And I would have much preferred a maxi size, like perhaps a (200cm x 100cm ). But these Kalila(s), will do for now. I purchased two basic Kalila(s), olive and violet. And the colorful piece you see on the extreme left, is a free gift from @hijupline. How sweet, masyaallah!

On a side note, it is important, for sisters to exercise caution, before purchasing a hijab. And stated below, are some of the considerations I'd make, before purchasing one.

*Disclaimer: I know nuts about fashion. Nonetheless, may these guidelines be beneficial for us all insyaallah.

1. Measurement. It's a yay for me, if it's of at least (200cm x 75). This length is perfect to ensure maximum coverage, for girls standing at a height of 163cm and above.

2. Fabric. Avoid viscose shawls, because it is a see-through fabric. It requires skills and very precise styling, to make it look proper. But it's a risk too heavy to take. Why get a see-through when you could easily get one that's not?

3. Color and design. Nothing too bright and fancy, for me.

4. Observe adab: during, before, and after transaction with the salesperson. If it's an online purchase, exercise responsibility and make prompt payment.

5. & the most important bit, get permission from your parents before purchasing! Bila ibu ayah redha, terasa sejukkk tudung di kepala. :D

6. Hijab style. You can style your shawl, to your own liking. But always remember to base your hijab style upon the rulings stated in the Quran. How you should wear it, how long it should go, where it should cover etc, read Surah An Nur, ayat 31 for guidance.

7. If you can't decide on what color to get, buy all!
