Welcome to Dunya!
In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
Assalamualaikum
Title: Welcome to Dunya!
Dear heart, o dear self. Welcome to Dunya (world). Where you can’t be with everyone you love, you can’t have everything you want, and everything is temporary here. But be patient and strive for Akhirah. There, you can have anything that you desire. There, you can be with whoever you love, and the best part is; there, everything is forever.
The Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: If your hearts were always in the state that they are in during zikir, the angels would come to see you to the point that they would greet you in the middle of the road.
This dunya. What is this dunya, than compared to akhirah? Jannah, or jahannam? This dunya, it is filled with people who walks around with so much arrogance, and egoism. This dunya, it is filled with people who would die for anything, to earn worldly success. This dunya, while everyone else is busy chasing after money & fame, not many of us bother to think about the One who had created this Earth.
The moons, the stars, the sun, the rainbow, the wind, & the rain. Has it ever occurred to you? Who controls them? Have you witnessed the lightning and heard the thunder? Have they ever made you wonder? No? Well that's sad. Because see, we are occupants of Earth, but sadly, we hardly make any effort to find out about the creator of this beautiful planet that we're living in. Actually, Earth is beautiful. But it is the people who lives in it, that makes Earth ugly. Me inclusive! ]=
But remember. The day when the Earth shall quake and shake, everything we have in this Dunya will be stripped away from us. Scared? I'm scared for what I've done too! On that day, we will all be scared and we will all be in so much fear to the point that some of us will even die in their own tears. I just hope that we will all remember that the day is near. Wallahualam for 2011 might even be our last year! So let's make doa' to Allah and do our self muhasabah(reflect).
The end is getting close. So let's ask ourselves. What is it that we're really after?
