Title: Camel Styled Hijabs
Ew. Camel syled hijabs? Such a style is not even beautiful to begin with. Yikes, yikes, yikes double triple quadraple yikes. Well here's the thing sisters. In case you haven't already know, camel styled hijabs is actually a total no-no, in Islam. Don't believe me? Perhaps the following hadith, will help enlighten you a bit.
Prophet Muhamamd s.a.w said: " There are two groups from amongst the dwellers of Jahannam(Hell), whom I have not seen. .....and women covering their bodies, yet naked, flirts around, & their heads are like the humps of the camels. They will not enter Paradise(Jannah), nor will they enjoy its fragrance, even though its fragrance can be smelt from such and such distance. [Sahih Muslim]
Lead a simple life, dress modestly, & follow the pious ladies of the past! Is that too much to ask for? Don't succumb yourselves to fashion sisters. Succumb yourself to Allah. Sure, you can dress up if you want. But please, do it modestly. Dress up in a way that it pleases Allah, and is permissible by the syariah.
But times have changed!
You can't expect me to go around wearing long hijabs that'll make me look like someone from the cave.
People will stare at me if I wear long hijabs.
Oh come on. Stop being so conservative. This is fashion! What's so wrong about that?
Do those who commit sins think that that they could ever fool Us? Their judgement is very wrong indeed. [ Al Ankabuut, ayat 4 ]
So what if it makes you look like you are someone from the cave? Ah, so you regard lowly of the people who lives in the cave and you regard the people who lives in the modern city highly? What kind of a comparison is that? Cave people or not, modern people or not, at the end of the day we are all the same for we came from the One who loves us the most. Didn't we come from Allah, no?
Every soul will taste death, and to Us shall you be ultimately returned. [ Al Ankabuut, ayat 57 ]
Huh, what? People will stare at you for wearing the long hijab, and you feel embarassed about it? So people staring at you walking down the street when you're in your spaghetti straps will actually make you feel proud? Whaw, how ironic eh?
This worldly life is no more than vanity and play, while the abode of the Hereafter is the real life. If only they knew. [ Al Ankabuut, ayat 64 ]
It is not about being conservative or not. It is not about being fashionable or not. It is all about whether you are being faithful towards your Lord or not. There's nothing wrong in fashion. But the wrong lies in people. People have become so attached to fashion that they tend to judge an individual solely based on what he/she wears. That to me, is ridiculous. It takes one, to know one doesn't it?
....would they still believe in falshood and reject God's blessings? [ Al Ankabuut, ayat 67 ]
Sisters, look.
Who will you worry about on the Last Day? Your parents? Your husbands? Your siblings? Your friends? No. You will only worry about yourself. I repeat. You will only worry about yourself. Live this life knowing that all your actions have consequences for your afterlife. Don't you ever compromise your faith, and happiness, for anything or anyone at all. Use what Allah has provided as a guide; the Quran. Still lost? Then read the Quran for it will show you how simple life can actually be.
All these that I have written, serves as a reminder for myself too. It's just that, I've seen far too many sisters walking around in malls with such a 'camel-hump-styled-hijab'. No offence, but to me, it's an eyesore really. I can't possibly go up to these sisters and literally say: Ya ukhti, that hijab style is haraam! Face it folks. In this time and age, nobody likes to be confronted. We are no longer living in Rasulullah's time where most all of his sahabahs are open to confrontations and all that. By coming up with such a blog post, is the least that I could do, to spread this message around to all fellow Muslim sisters all over the world. I myself am not perfect, and I am just a kid with flaws that you could possibly never hope to imagine. But I'm trying to be better, and I'm just sharing an ilm', because I care.
I hope this benefits us all insyaAllah. Well in someway or another I hope!
