The way love should be

In the name of Allah The Most Compassionate, The Most Merciful
Assalamualaikum

Topic: Love in Islam

Ya Allah, if I were to fall in love,
Will me to fall in love with someone who professes their love for You
So that they may strengthen my love for You

Ya Allah, If I were to fall in love,

Allow me to embrace one whose heart is tied to You,

So as to not fall into the trappings of lust.

Ya Allah, if I were to fall in love, preserve my heart with theirs,

So as to never turn away from You.

Ya Allah, if I were to miss somebody,
Will me to miss someone who longs for martyrdom in Your Way.

Ya Allah, if I am blissful with the love of Your lover,
Let it not surpass the bliss of supplicating for You in the last third of the night .

Ya Allah, if I were to fall in love with Your lover, let me not stumble,

and fall into the longer route to Your Call.

Ya Allah, if You were to Grant my longing for Your lover,

let it not be in excess lest it hinders me from remembering The Everlasting Love,

and The Eternal Longing dedicated only for You...
